Terms of service
The rules for using Open Weekend Sports.
Last updated November 1, 2026
Open Weekend Sports is in preview. These terms are a draft and will be updated before payments go live. We'll tell account holders by email when they change.
1. What Open Weekend is
Open Weekend Sports ("Open Weekend", "we") is a website that helps youth sports teams find opponents, and helps them arrange fields, officials, leagues and tournaments. We connect people. We don't organize, supervise, coach or officiate games, and we don't own or run any field.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. Accounts are for adults: coaches, club directors, organizers, officials, assignors and field operators.
- Children don't have accounts. Teams are listed at team level only, with no player names, rosters or photos.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us through Help if you think someone else has used it.
3. Games, safety and responsibility
- Each team and its adults are responsible for their players: supervision, safety, equipment, transportation, medical decisions and any background checks their club or league requires.
- Teams are responsible for their own insurance, sanctioning and league rules. Booking through Open Weekend doesn't provide insurance.
- Fields and parks set their own rules and conditions of use. Officials and assignors are independent; they aren't our employees.
- Anyone can cancel a game for weather, safety or any good reason. Don't play in conditions that aren't safe.
4. What you post
- Post accurate information about your team, its age group and level, open dates and scores. Report scores honestly.
- Team names, records, results, ratings and the head coach's name appear publicly. By posting, you let us show them on the site.
- Don't post anything about a child beyond the team's name and results.
5. How to behave
- No harassment, threats or abusive messages to coaches, officials, parents or staff.
- No false scores, fake teams, impersonation or spam.
- Use other people's contact details only to arrange the game you were matched for.
6. Officials and assignors
Anyone can ask to work as an umpire, referee or assignor. Our staff approve each person and sport, and may decline or remove that approval. Officials are responsible for holding the certification their sport and league require.
7. Fees and payments
- Finding games, posting open dates and messaging other coaches are free.
- When payments go live, fees for fields, officials and entry fees are shown before you pay (see pricing). Payments are handled by a payment processor; we don't store card numbers.
- Refund rules for rainouts and cancellations are shown when you book.
- Organizers are responsible for their own leagues and tournaments, including what they promise entrants.
8. The preview
During the preview, examples marked Sample aren't real teams or games, payments are switched off, and features may change or be removed.
9. Ending your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time through Help. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Scores from games already played stay with the teams that played them.
10. No guarantees
We work to keep the site accurate and running, but it's provided as is. We don't guarantee that a match, field, official or game will happen, and to the extent the law allows we aren't liable for injuries, losses or disputes arising from games, fields or other users. If we are found liable, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Louisiana law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: write to us through Help and contact, or email openweekendsports@gmail.com. See also the privacy policy.
